A few honest answers

The things people ask most, and how to reach us if you don’t find what you’re looking for.

What is Katoikeo?

Katoikeo is a quiet, reflective publication for young adults. Each month we sit with one honest question about identity, worth, and faith, explored through a short reading, a private journaling practice, a resource, and a prayer. It’s a place to slow down, not another feed to keep up with.

Do I have to be a Christian to be here?

Not at all. Katoikeo is written from a Christian perspective, but it’s for anyone whose faith is close, complicated, or simply curious. You’re welcome to read, sit with the questions, and keep whatever is helpful, at your own pace, with no pressure to perform.

How often is it published?

There’s one topic a month, and a short “pause” each week within it. Nothing arrives all at once, and there’s nothing to catch up on. You can start wherever you are and move at your own pace.

Is it free?

Yes. Katoikeo is free to read and free to subscribe to.

What is a “pause”?

A pause is the weekly piece: a short, self-contained moment to reflect, write something down, go a little deeper if you want, and pray. It’s meant to take a few unhurried minutes, not a whole evening.

Is what I write private?

Completely. The journaling practices happen offline, on your own paper or device. Nothing you write is ever sent to us or stored. The only thing we ever collect is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe.

How do I subscribe or unsubscribe?

You can subscribe from the form on the home page. Choose a monthly note or a gentle weekly cadence, and we’ll email you to confirm it’s really you. Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe, so you can step away anytime, no hard feelings.

Can I download or print a pause?

Yes. On any weekly pause or monthly topic, use the Save as PDF button to keep a copy or read it offline. It’s handy for a journal, a quiet moment away from screens, or sharing with a friend.

Who is behind Katoikeo?

Hi, I’m Debbie. I write and curate Katoikeo. You can read a little more about me and why this began on the About page.
